Mitchell, Lang & Smith was established in 1981 by the merger of two highly-respected Portland, Oregon civil litigation defense firms: Hershiser, Mitchell, Olson, Gheen & Lehner and Lang & Smith. From these two firms we trace our roots to the 1940s.
Founding members of the firm, including named senior partners Bill Mitchell, Dick Lang, and Chuck Smith, brought together extensive trial experience and expertise in a variety of complex civil litigation matters which have been the cornerstone of this firm's longstanding success.
